Shippensburg Portrait Photographer: Senior Hannah

Varsity Field hockey captain relaxed in the autumn woods and competing on the SU hockey field…

Athletically and academically focused Hannah knew she wanted bridge as a background for her senior portraits.   I knew of this little footbridge in Middle Spring that was perfect for the natural look that she wanted for the session (see above).  We also had a bit of sunlight peeking through the woods at times which really added a soft, natural element to her photos (see below).

Hannah has beautiful deep brown eyes and I love how the angle of the image above really shows them off and gives a casual, feel.  The image below also has a natural vibe, as the wind sweeps her hair and the soft, fall tones in the background again bring out her stunning eyes.

While close-cropped portraits are key during a senior portrait photography session, as a photographer I also like to capture some of the scenery as well.  Here you can see the winding country road, as it passes the fields and forests that surround Hannah’s home town…

I also work creative and candid images into a typical portrait session and love it when they are able to capture something that is otherwise intangible.  The image above feels natural and soft, with Hannah’s dress flowing the the wind and her casual stance, yet the shadow exudes drive and confidence.  I feel like it gives you a glimpse into her strong character.
Hannah is driven and confident in school and on the field, she has earned many achievements academically and athletically.    On the field she is unstoppable. She is a two year MVP and has made first team Mid Penn.  I like this image because it captures so many of those qualities…

I like how the image above subtly shows that she is captain of the varsity field hockey team (see her knee sock) as she juggles her ball.  Hannah’s ball is far from the traditional white.  She embraces neon colors, which are known as her signature.  Speaking of color, check out the sky in these next two images…

In the image below, I wanted to feature a few of her high school achievements along with the setting sun, almost representing the closing of this chapter and the bright, colorful future she has ahead of her.
shippensburg-portrait-photographer-12Hannah, Thanks to you and your mom for working with me for your senior portraits :).  I wish you all the very best with all of your future endeavors!
