Laura and Jeff are huge football fans, there is just one problem, their favorite teams are rivals…
You may remember Laura and Jeff from their Linwood Estates engagement session. They wanted unique photos that would be personal and capture their relationship. I had a chance to really get creative with them and used silhouettes, reflections, flare and other unique photography techniques that captured their personalities artistically .
This portion of the shoot was fully dedicated to their football rivalry. They threw on their favorite jerseys and were ready to have some fun! Laura said, “It offered a fun, personal twist to the shoot that helped us loosen up as this was our first ‘photography session’ together.”
Here they are back to back wearing their Eagles and Steelers garb, I wanted their body language to show that they were firm in their stance. Both jerseys proclaim their team is #1, haha.
They found out about their strong, opposing interests as soon as they met each other and immediately began teasing each other about it.
Laura is a die-hard Pittsburgh fan (Steelers/Penguins/Pirates) and Jeff feels exactly the same about his Philadelphia teams (Eagles/Flyers/Phillies).
It really doesn’t matter what time of year it is, their teams will always go head to head, but football season is most intense. Here they are facing off, love the expressions, haaaa…
Laura shared, “We’ve attended a few rivalry sporting events together, like a Flyers vs. Penguins game. It’s always fun to joke with each other about our respective teams, and we get a lot of comments from other people about how our household must be interesting, haha.”
I had them throw the football around a bit which was fun. I like Jeff’s stance here– Carson Wentz better watch his back 😉
Laura caught the ball and here Jeff is trying his best to get it back without ripping it out of her hands of tackling her. He eventually decided to pick her up which was pretty darn cute.
I really appreciate their ability to stay true to themselves and their interests and background while coming together as a couple.
They way that they playfully tease and jest just shows what a great team they will make when they join forces next year and officially become the Hermans. 😉
Speaking of which, you can see that one element of their jerseys is exactly the same…
Laura shared, “Though we didn’t watch the Steelers vs. Eagles game together this year, Jeff was a pretty good sport when the Eagles pulled out an impressive win. We’ve both been supportive of each other’s teams, which keeps the fun edge to this rivalry alive!”
Here come the Hermans– save the date… 😉
