A beach-themed wedding reception (following their Caribbean wedding) with an adorable couple and origami bouquets that were hand-made by the groom!
Alyssa & Nate tied the knot with a destination wedding in the Caribbean with 10 of their closest friends and family members and held their wedding reception at Roundtop Mountain Resort (booked through Altland House Catering). Alyssa & Nate felt like they got the best of both worlds, experiencing the vacation of a lifetime with their closest friends and family and celebrating with a beach-themed wedding reception and sharing their wedding video and celebrating with everyone in Harrisburg.

Alyssa knew that she wouldn’t want a traditional bridal bouquet, she wanted something that would last beyond the wedding day and be more affordable, so Nate made her and her girls origami bouquets! He followed this tutorial on youtube, warning it takes time to make these!
Alyssa didn’t want shoes she would wear once, and wanted something that would be comfy and cute. She bought TOMs which have a 1:1 program— when you buy a pair they give a pair to a person in need. They have given out over 10 million shoes in 60 different countries. Now Alyssa wears her comfy shoes daily ;).
I love the image above. I’m not sure if it stands out to me because of the shadow on the floor or the bridesmaids’ reflection in the window, or maybe it’s just because Alyssa is adorable. She ended up getting to wear her wedding gown twice, once for ber beach wedding and once to her Harrisburg reception, that is pretty cool 😉
Alyssa always knew she’d want “mermaid” hair on her wedding and with a beach themed wedding, could there be a more perfect occasion? The style showed off her length and was kept off her back, too. I asked Alyssa what she appreciates most about Nathan, she said she was first drawn to his good looks and sense of humor, but now appreciates most that he is unconditionally loving, patient, dependable and trustworthy– a total gentlemen. Do you think he kind of resembles Justin Timberlake?
Guest place cards were tied to starfish in a bed of sand. There colors were teal and green apple and resembled the colors of the caribbean and brought a beachy feel to this mountain resort.
The bridal party entered the dance floor doing “The Bernie Lean” which might look familiar if you’ve ever seen the movie Weekend at Bernies ;).
Hey photobooth doubled as entertainment and a guest favor from their reception, the staff was professional and easy to work with ;). A great plus about having an early reception on a long summer day is that we were able to get some extra photos after the event itself was over. Alyssa & nate were able to unwind and take everything in while I photographed more images of just the two of them at Gifford Pinchot State Park.
After spending some time in the sun, I said I could go for some ice cream. Alyssa and Nate suggested that the four of us go to Reesers Ice Cream down the street. When we all showed up at the counter the owner snapped this shot of us with his cell phone, he said it made his day to see Alyssa & Nate at Reecers on the day of their wedding reception! After working with you two over the past year, I can say that you have huge hearts, awesome attitudes and many happy years ahead of you. It was a real pleasure to work with you both!
