A trampoline, horse & a family fighting cancer…

Michelle & I were college roommates, we graduated from SU together and married our college sweethearts, we moved in the same neighborhood and fixed up old homes together, had our first children together a few weeks apart and eventually would share our girls’ clothes and take our families trick-or-treating together.  In many ways our paths have been very similar, but this summer she received some incredibly devastating news, Michelle has breast cancer.
I wanted to capture the McBride family and all of their energy, spunk, big hearts and deep love.  I wanted to photograph Michelle’s playful spirit and incredibly beautiful locks before she started chemo and radiation, which she heard would likely zap her energy and loose her hair.  These are photos that I captured a few days before her treatments started…



I got a few shots of Michelle with each of her girls.  Livy likes her hair a lot and is always trying to put bows in it, here she is giving her a kiss on the cheek…

Michelle, you are one of the strongest people I know– you are strong willed, athletic, a fighter and a winner.  I am so proud of you for staying so positive through all of this.  Your love and faith is inspiring and a very beautiful thing.
